About

How do you build a platform that speaks to a fast-moving, culturally rich audience while positioning KSA as a global hub for youth culture? THAA was conceived as a radical reimagining of content consumption—a digital space where storytelling is immersive, creators are empowered, and culture is dynamic. Designed as a concept for VICE at Bravoure, THAA wasn’t just a content platform. It was a statement: a new way for Saudi voices to engage with the world and for the world to engage with Saudi voices.

As a product designer at Bravoure, I worked on UX and UI and built a design system from the ground up. With no predefined branding or structure, I developed a scalable design language and an intuitive reading experience that worked seamlessly across devices. The challenge was to merge innovation with usability, creating an engaging and future-proof platform.

As a product designer at Bravoure, I worked on UX and UI and built a design system from the ground up. The mission was clear—create a media experience that was snappy, socially native, and fluid in its consumption. Existing platforms struggled with flexibility, social integration, and engagement. Long-form journalism clashed with short attention spans, and branding was non-existent.

The mission was clear—create a media experience that was snappy, socially native, and fluid in its consumption. Existing platforms struggled with flexibility, social integration, and engagement. Long-form journalism clashed with short attention spans, and branding was non-existent.

The challenge

The challenge was to design a scalable, future-proof experience that blended deep storytelling with the immediacy of social media. THAA had to feel intuitive yet bold, structured yet adaptable and push the limitations of traditional content platforms.

Smart, Scalable, Snackable

To break through, we designed a modular UX system that gave users control over how they consumed content—reading, watching, or listening. Taking inspiration from TikTok and Instagram, the interface prioritized quick interactions while maintaining depth for longer reads.

Colour became more than an aesthetic—it was an identity. The platform dynamically adapted its visual language to match the tone of each story, reinforcing emotional engagement. This evolving colour system didn’t just enhance the reading experience; it created a distinct, ever-changing brand signature that celebrated the diversity of voices.

Each design decision prioritised the audience, balancing excellent design with seamless engagement. In addition to utilising AI for intelligent listening tools, users can switch to a summary view for quick reading, allowing a broader audience to engage with our content.

Dynamic mode switch

User experience is personal. THAA gave users the ability to tailor how they engaged with content. Dark mode wasn’t just a design choice; it was a commitment to accessibility, reducing eye strain and enhancing immersion. Future iterations explored adaptive brightness and warm light options to refine personalization further.

THAA wasn’t just about consuming content but about those who created it. Dedicated creator pages gave writers, photographers, and journalists their digital space, building visibility and community. Early concepts explored interactive storytelling tools, creator marketplace, podcasts, and analytics dashboards to empower independent creators.

THAA never launched, but the impact was undeniable. The concept earned strong client praise for its innovative UX, dynamic branding, and seamless content experience. This project redefined what a news platform could be—bold, fluid, and designed for the next generation. The takeaway? When content is king, the experience must be just as powerful. A project with many learnings in which switching between UX and Product design whilst balancing stakeholder management and designing a visual identity became second nature.
